It’s been a while since I’ve posted- but for a really good reason as Barb and I were vacationing in Italy for a few weeks with some incredible friends and we got lost in time!

We had the opportunity to see Michelangelo’s David in Florence for a 3rd time and honestly it hit me really hard to see this incredible sculpture this time around – especially when Michelangelo was only 26 years old when he started sculpting it out of one block of white cararra marble over 500 years ago. What an incredible legacy he created as people are paying 25 Euros to see his work today.

With everything I’ve been through in the past 2 years in Boston I could not help but think about my own legacy and what I’ll be known for when my final day comes. What meaningful things did I accomplish and will anyone even care about anything I did or said 500 years into the future? It’s a real humbling thought!

This is where the rock comes in. Not the white cararra marble, but my wife Barb (aka my Rock) who has been by my side for the past 32 years. She said instead of worrying about your future legacy, why don’t you just work on being loving and caring right now and not stress out about the future.

Finer words could not have been spoken as she summed it up right on point.

So my question for you is… are your loving and caring right now or are you stressing about the future and what you will be known for?

Reflectively yours!
